Relations between Georgia and Ukraine
Diplomatic relations between Georgia and Ukraine were established on 22 July 1992.
Main Fields of Cooperation
Georgian – Ukrainian relationship is based on the traditional partnership and close cooperation.
Existing legal framework consists of 105 bilateral and multilateral agreements, which practically regulates all spheres of relationship between two countries.
There is an active collaboration between different branches of governments, which is evidenced by growing dynamics of bilateral meetings.
Ukraine is Georgia’s one of the biggest and important trade partners. Between countries there is a free trade regime, which is legally regulated in both bilateral and multilateral (within GUAM) formats.
Important part of cooperation is sharing of experience regarding successfully implemented reforms. Collaboration is also actively developed in the fields of agriculture, public health, sports and youth. Direct scientific–educational ties have been established between major universities of the two countries.
Cooperation in the field of tourism is one the main priorities. Georgia is one of the most important destinations for Ukrainian tourists, bright example of which is the increasing number of Ukrainian tourists in Georgia.
